Nurses Available is a private duty and staff relief nursing agency that has served the residents and health care providers in Berks County since 1986. We provide nurses aides, certified nurse’s aides, licensed practical nurses and registered nurses to care for individuals in their home, hospital, assisted living or nursing facility. We also provide nursing staff to health care providers and facilities when they are short staffed.

Personal care and assisting with the activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, skin care, incontinence care and assistance with personal hygiene, can be provided. Numerous non-medical services such as grocery shopping and errands, meal preparation, light housekeeping and laundry, respite care, companionship and transportation to appointments are also available. Services are provided from 1 hour to 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. With the aging population and the segment of this population that desire to remain in their homes, demand for our type of services continues to grow. Instead of paying a private pay rate at a facility, clients can receive individualized care in their own home for the same cost. Many people need only assistance with non-personal care activities to remain in their home where they are more comfortable and can be independent. Others may be in need of skilled care which can be provided at home as well. Skilled nursing services that require a higher lever of care are provided by our competent RNs and LPNs. Such services can include, but are not limited to, medication assistance, wound care, blood sugar checks, injections, catheters, enemas and colostomy assistance.

Another reason for the increase in demand is that family members want private coverage for a loved one in the hospital or nursing home. Families want to be assured that their loved one will get the assistance needed, when it is needed, when they are not with them.

Nurses Available provides services to more than just the geriatric population. Nurses Available also provides pediatric, new mother and baby care, and sick child care. Services are being utilized by working families who need to care for a loved one but cannot take time off from work.
