Awareness Makes Cents 2021

Riverfront Federal Credit Union awareness makes cents

Awareness Makes Cents for Our Community!

Our annual Awareness Makes Cents campaign kicks off this October 1st! Check out what we have planned to promote early detection and raise funds for those in our local community impacted by breast cancer.

Piggy/Pumpkin Voting/Auction

Our employees have created colorful hand-painted piggy banks and ceramic pumpkins that will be featured on our social media pages throughout the month. Vote for your favorite via our Facebook page. All banks and pumpkins will be available for purchase via silent auction on our Facebook page. Bidding begins Friday, October 29th, 2021 (scroll down for complete auction rules and deadlines). New to this year's auction is the Mystery Pig, which comes with additional mystery prizes tucked inside. What will the lucky bidder on this pig win? We can't tell! You'll just have to bid on it to find out. Proceeds from all sales will be donated to local breast cancer service organizations.

Lackawanna Mobile Mammography Unit

On October 7th 2021, Riverfront is partnering with Lackawanna Mobile X-Ray to offer free mammograms from 9 am-4 pm on site at our 2609 Keiser Blvd office in Spring Township. We're seeking women, with or without insurance, who are interested in participating in the event. If you've been putting off your appointment or don't presently have medical coverage, this is a great way to take preventative action. Early detection is the best defense against breast cancer. For those without insurance, Riverfront will incur the cost of the screening on your behalf.

Also, during the event, a Breast Care Patient Navigator from the Penn State Health St. Joseph Cancer Center will be on site to discuss breast health and share materials on the Healthy Woman Program.

Appointments will be scheduled on a first-serve, first-served basis. To inquire or set up an appointment, please fill out our Registration Form.

Beansie's Mobile Espresso Café

Beansie's Mobile Espresso Café will be on site Friday, October 15th at Riverfront's Spring Township office, located at 2609 Keiser Boulevard in Wyomissing, from 8-10:00 am. Drink ticket vouchers will be given out inside the branch for those making donations to the Awareness Makes Cents campaign.

Cupcake Fundraiser

Monday, October 18th - All Riverfront branches will have a limited supply of delicious and festive cupcakes in the lobby. We invite you to take one and if you are so inclined make a donation to the cause. We promise to put the funds to good use all monies raised will be donated to Thanx Wig Bank, a local organization which offers wig services to those undergoing treatment.

Other Ways to Participate Throughout the Month:

Donate! - We'll continue our tradition of having piggy banks at all of our branches so members can make donations that will be given to Breast Cancer Support Services of Berks County. At our new Keiser Branch location, you can donate your spare change through an ITM transaction to help too! Awareness Makes Cents Tee Shirts - This year's shirt is a pink long sleeve shirt. Sizes are limited, so get yours early before they're all gone

Awareness Makes Cents Pins - This year we've added a custom pink lapel pin to the list of items available for purchase.
