Alert: Protect Yourself from Credit Union Impersonation Scams

Message from the CEO

Home Message from the CEO

As the days get shorter, it’s time to start preparing for the chilly months ahead. Maybe this is the year to add an outdoor kitchen or firepit to enjoy the crisp autumn air. Or replace the furnace to keep things toasty over the winter. Whatever you need, Riverfront is here to help you accomplish your goals with affordable financing matching you with a payment you can afford. And speaking of planning ahead, it’s never too early to start your holiday shopping. Riverfront’s Cash Rewards Visa® is still one of the best cards out there because it’s the card that pays you back. Earn rewards not only for everyday purchases like gas and groceries, but also things like appliances, say if your stove suddenly stops working right before the Thanksgiving holiday. And don’t forget to add your Cash Rewards card to your digital wallet so you can pay right from your Smartphone. Also, keep an eye out for an additional cash back earning opportunity as we go into the holiday season by visiting https://riverfrontfcu.org/hurry

Our Awareness Makes Cents campaign kicked off its 8th year on October 1st. Every October we turn our focus to spreading awareness about the importance of early detection of breast cancer. There are multiple ways you can get involved and help us raise funds for local non-profits providing services to those impacted by breast cancer.

Our popular Piggy Bank auction is back along with flower bouquet and swag sales. Don’t forget to donate your spare change to our cause at our Keiser location when working with VIRA or by depositing it into one of our branch piggy banks. This year’s auction is really special. A group of survivors from BCSS (Breast Cancer Support Services of Berks County) have created colorful hand-painted piggy banks for the auction. Bidding starts at 8:00 am on October 1st, so be sure to mark the date on your calendars. Our claw machine located in our lobby near Queen’s Café is full of pink piggy banks with a few gift cards inside for those who are lucky enough to snag one!  And if tasty treats are more to your liking, Queen’s Café  (QueensCafeReading.com) located inside the lobby of our Keiser Boulevard office, will offer a special pink drink special and mini-cupcakes with all proceeds generously being donated to our cause partners. This is one sweet pairing!

There are lots of exciting things happening in October. On October 13th, Riverfront will host its last free Berks Cars & Coffee event for the year at our headquarters office on Keiser Boulevard. Cars & Coffee events are family-friendly and offer an opportunity for the public to showcase classic, vintage, antique and custom cars to other car enthusiasts in a casual meet and greet setting. You never know what you might see, so I encourage you to stop by! Full details can be found at https://riverfrontfcu.org/cars. To finish out the month, Riverfront will host its annual Trunk or Treat event from 4-6 pm on Wednesday, Oct. 30. This is another family-friendly activity and Queen’s Café will provide free hot chocolate. So, bring the kids and have some fun!

The countdown to the holidays is right around the corner and the days will get shorter soon. You can rest easy knowing you can reach out to Riverfront’s virtual assistant AIDA anytime for financial questions that may pop up on the fly. AIDA can save you time and provide access to your accounts 24/7, day or night for balance inquiries, transfers, loan payments, access to forms, applications and more.

On behalf of the Board of Directors and the entire Riverfront team, I thank you for your continued membership and community partnership as we wrap up another successful year and look forward to what is to come.

Tim

How can I become a member?

Customers become members and part owners when they open an account here. Our profits are returned to members in the form of better rates, lower fees, improved services, and increased reserves to maintain our unmatched financial strength. Having an account at Riverfront means that you are part owner of the Credit Union.

Deposits are used to fund loans to other account holders. Earnings are used to increase savings yields, lower loan rates, offer new financial services, or add to the institution’s financial strength. Don’t worry; your money is safe with us. The National Credit Union Administration (NCUA), an agency of the U.S. Government, regulates us. The NCUA examines each credit union annually and insures your savings accounts up to at least $250,000.
