About Riverfront Federal Credit Union:

Riverfront Federal Credit Union was founded in 1948 as the RDG Reading Federal Credit Union to serve the employees of the Reading Railroad. Through the years, other organizations and companies were permitted to join RDG and to reflect our expanded field of membership, we changed our name in 1987 to Riverfront Federal Credit Union.

Additional growth came in 2008 when we were granted a charter amendment to allow anyone who currently lives, works, worships or attends school in Berks County, Pennsylvania or is a legal entity doing business in Berks County to join.

Payment & Item Processing Specialist

What you’ll be doing:

We are looking for a Payment & Item Processing Specialist.  The person in this role is responsible for the daily tracking, reconciling, and preparing and posting general ledger journal entries from Interactive Teller Machine (ITM) transactions. They are also responsible for maintaining the credit card settlement subsidiary schedule and reconciling and researching credit card settlement items. They will also assist with vendor payment tracking, member wire transfer, basic general ledger account reconciliations, updating subsidiary schedules, journal entry preparation and posting, and various projects.

  • Track and reconcile daily interactive teller machine transactions
  • Prepare and post general ledger journal entries from interactive teller machine transactions
  • Maintain credit card subsidiary schedule
  • Reconcile and research credit card settlement items
  • Review new vendors and vendor payments for appropriate 1099 reporting tracking
  • Assist with processing member wire transfer requests
  • Assist with daily and monthly general ledger account reconciliations
  • Assist with maintaining various general ledger account analyses and subsidiary schedules
  • Prepare and post appropriate general ledger journal entries in connection with the responsibilities of the position

What you’ll bring to the team:

  • One – three years equivalent work experience or Two-year Accounting degree
  • Proficiency in operating a PC, navigating the internet, and in Microsoft Office (Excel a must)
  • Accuracy with numbers
  • Ability to operate a 10 key calculator
  • Attention to detail
  • Good communication skills
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Professional attitude with a desire to learn
  • Ability to be a team player in the department and within the whole organization
  • Adaptable to change
  • Ability to speak, read and comprehend the English language
  • Ability to be bonded under the credit union’s insurance
  • Position requires sitting at a desk for an extended period of time to process work and the ability to lift up to 30 pounds
