Proudly Serving Berks County for 75 Years
Riverfront Federal Credit Union was founded in 1948 as the RDG Reading Federal Credit Union to serve the employees of the Reading Railroad. Over the years, other organizations and companies were permitted to join, leading to substantial growth. To reflect the resulting diversity of our field of membership, we changed our name to Riverfront Federal Credit Union in 1987. In 2000 Riverfront added the City of Reading as an underserved area to our field of membership. We were granted a charter amendment in 2008 to allow anyone who currently lives, works, worships or attends school in Berks County, Pennsylvania or is a legal entity doing business in Berks County to join. We are as proud of our beginning as how far we have come today.
Our Mission
To enhance the financial life of our members.
Our 75th Anniversary
“In 2023, Riverfront will celebrate its 75th anniversary! Although the official date is in November, we’ll be thanking Berks County all year long by doing 75 gestures of goodwill as a part of our anniversary celebration campaign to benefit those in our local community as well as local non-profit service organizations. Plus, we’ll announce other exciting events and giveaways throughout the year. It’s our way of saying thank you for a wonderful 75 years!” – Tim McLeod President/CEO
