How It Works
Simple. Fun. A little chaotic (in the best way).
- Adopt a pig for $10 (ages 18+)
- Your pig is entered into the race
- Watch it race down the creek – if it crosses first, you win!
Event Day Schedule
Location: 475 Museum Rd, West Reading, PA
Near Wyomissing Creek (pickleball courts area)
- 12:00 PM – 1:00 PM → Check-in, adopt pigs, enjoy activities
- 1:30 PM → Piggy Drop (race begins!)
- 3:00 PM → Event concludes

Why It Matters
This isn’t just a race – it’s a fundraiser with real community impact.
Every $10 pig adoption supports local organizations making a difference in our region. Proceeds are split between participants and our nonprofit partners, with both organizations receiving donations – and a bonus donation going to the winning nonprofit pig.
More adoptions = more impact.
The Race
- First adopted pig to cross the finish line wins
- Each pig is assigned a unique number at adoption
- Winners are notified after the event via email and posted online
- Prizes must be claimed by June 30, 2026

Official Rules:
1. If the situation dictates that the event be postponed, Riverfront will decide when to reschedule and provide updates.
2. Adults ages 18 and over can “adopt” a pig for $10. If the person whose name appears on a winning pig is not more than 18 years old, the prize will be awarded to his or her parent or legal guardian.
3. Those “adopting a pig” will not receive an actual plastic pig. Numbers will be attached to each pig corresponding to one $10 “adoption”. The person’s or organization’s name listed on the official “adoption” receipt matching the number corresponding to the pigs in order of drawing will be awarded the prize. Positive identification is required to claim any prize won.
4. If an individual who “adopted” a pig wishes to claim their physical piggy bank, they must attend the event.
5. All adopted pigs entered into the race will be provided by and remain the property of Riverfront Federal Credit Union if not picked up at the race itself.
6. Riverfront will determine, in its sole discretion, the maximum number of pig adoptions available.
7. The winning numbers will be available from Riverfront following the event and will be posted on social media and our website.
8. Winners will be notified by via the email provided with donation. Prizes must be claimed by June 30, 2026.
9. Each winner has sole responsibility for paying any taxes, assessments and similar fees or charges on any prizes won and must authorize the deduction of such taxes, if any, from the prizes to the extent required by law.
10. By entering, donors release Riverfront and its officers, directors, members and staff, and other related persons or entities, from any and all liability with respect to prizes, the event, and event day festivities.
11. Chances of winning depend on the total number of entries.
12. Riverfront will be the final arbiter of the Piggy Derby Rules and the Piggy Derby Race.
13. All decisions and interpretations of these Rules will be made by Riverfront and its judgment is final.
14. Any provision contained in these Rules in conflict with any applicable law, ordinance or regulation shall be deemed omitted and the remainder of the Rules shall remain in full force and effect.

Also eligible for membership is a current member’s spouse, child, parent, sibling, grandparent, grandchild, in-law and household member. You will need to provide proof of your eligibility.
